SITE provided off-site fabrication services and field construction and installation of the above-ground flowlines connecting pads 109 and 117 at Suncor’s Firebag SAGD project during the winter of 2014-2015.
The scope included the complete construction of the system including:
- structural steel installation
- piping install
- electrical and instrumentation
- piping insulation
- pre-commissioning.
SITE pre-fabricated and pre-insulated all piping spools at the Cold Lake fabrication facility concurrently with the field work. The pre-fabrication of pipeline spools greatly reduced the amount of field welding and on-site man hours. The field execution team included a team of more than 95 people at peak. SES received two safety leadership flags from Suncor for 90 periods without a safety incident.
